"So now
I decide to allow this painting to go where ever it wants to go.
What develops is a lighter background and the particles raining
down like subatomic fireworks from the sky. Yes, the final form
of this painting isn't what I expected when I started. I'm trying
to just allow things to happen as they happen.
I find this
process to be pretty fascinating. To me it emulates natures basic
element of random order. The concept where an oak leaf is easily
identifiable as a species but every leaf is different. This implies
that the rules of nature have been concensly set but allowed to
work themselves out in a random fashion. I'd like to think that
this concept is at least part of what Jackson Pollock was thinking
when he made the statement "I am nature". When an artist
paints in this fashion they chose the paint, the size of the canvas,
the manor in which they move their arm and somewhat how the paint
comes off the brush. But beyond that the paint finds it's own
path. I see Pollacks paintings as a perfect execution of random
order."
