| there was a time ,not very long ago, when wild animals | |
| represented a part of the wilderness to be | |
| conquered. sometimes a literal gift from God to feed your family or yourself. | |
| times have changed and there is no more | |
| conquering of wilderness, only preserving. | |
| i love painting landscapes but creating a colorado landscape without | |
| an animal in it is like painting a house with no one home. | |
| i've always had a close relationship with my fellow inhabitants. | |
| we both breath - we both bleed. | |
| i'm comfortable around animals, | |
| usually they are comfortable around me or i should say tolerate me. | |
| sometimes they try to bite. it's the way of the wilderness. | |
