This painting, like most of my paintings, is more than what is first apparent. I love old cabins in the Colorado high country, but I'm not much interested in the "Little Cabin in The Big Woods Painting." It is the shape, colors, textures, line, and the composition which makes this painting interesting. However, the mystique of this painting lies not in old buildings or certain colors and textures. Like the light radiating from heaven on an earthly endeavor long since past, glory in this life does not result in what we leave behind. No matter where our lives lead us we know this in our hearts.
