When I started this painting I wanted to paint the Garden as it was before the Europeans showed up. When you become connected to the land you begin to long to see it before it was "conquered."
This painting has become very popular in the Colorado Springs area. I had it in my house for a long time and finally decided to hang it in the gallery. It didn't last very long before it was sold. What really surprised me is that people began to comment on how it looked like an old time hand colored photograph. Something I never intended.
